The values that drive our work & everything we do

"To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life."

Honesty

We will always be honest with with our readers, it's the only way. True storytelling is raw, true and full of emotion.

Integrity

We work with our readers and the brands we write about to make sure we are doing this hobby justice. If we're wrong, we own up to it.

Transparency

If we are benefiting, be it monetarily or otherwise, you'l know about it. It's not just about the law, it's about letting the reader know when they're contributing with their attention.

Inclusion

In this exclusionary industry we strive to be a welcoming place that all watch enthusiasts can feel at home. No matter your bank balance.

Bias

Being unbiased is impossible, and we don't pretend to be so. We write about what we love and aren't afraid to do so. If you we're enthusiastic about a watch, we will tell you why.

Ownership

The Subdial is privately owned and will remain so. This helps us stay independent, agile and long term focused.

Want to know more?

Are any of our articles paid?

If they are, you'll know. At the top of any partnership content there will be an indication that it's been paid for. We will however always write from the heart.

Does The Subdial own Certified Horology?

Well, although we believe we never really own anything in this life, Certified Horology is a part of our network. Having a retail sister company allows us to make some money to support our stories.
