Jaeger-LeCoultre is a Swiss manufacture founded in 1833 in Le Sentier, Vallée de Joux, part of the Richemont Group. Known as 'the watchmaker's watchmaker', JLC is one of the most technically prolific manufactures in Switzerland — having created over 1,400 calibres and holding more than 400 patents. The brand supplies movements to other prestigious houses and is celebrated for the Reverso, the Atmos clock, and a depth of in-house manufacture capability matched by very few brands.
The Reverso (1931) is JLC's defining piece — a rectangular watch with a swivelling case designed for polo players to protect the crystal during play. Its Art Deco proportions and reversible case have made it one of the most recognisable and enduring watch designs in history. The Master collection showcases JLC's manufacture complications including perpetual calendars, tourbillons, and the Master Ultra Thin range. The Polaris is their sports watch. The Duomètre demonstrates JLC's dual-circuit movement architecture.
Jaeger-LeCoultre designs, develops, and produces virtually every component of its watches in-house — from escapement parts to cases, dials, and straps. The manufacture in Le Sentier employs over 180 different professional skills under one roof, including movement design, gem-setting, engraving, and enamel work. JLC also produces the Calibre 101 — the world's smallest mechanical movement, used in jewellery watches — and supplies movements to brands including Patek Philippe, IWC, and Audemars Piguet.
